This was a magical place within eyesight of the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd. We were a family of 5 adults, and everyone enjoyed their bedrooms and the living spaces. The lodge is a nice mix of old and new; the renovated kitchen was larger than appeared in the pictures. We were enjoying the property and location so much, we cooked in both nights using the grill provided. Master bath and laundry area are especially well thought out. We had the honor of attending Mass at the Church of the Good Shepherd on the last Sunday of the month with visitors from all over the world.

We feel privileged having a chance to stay at this beautiful house and spend the most amazing Christmas there! We can’t find proper words to describe it, but the house is full of soul and beyond beautiful… Everything is designed so comfortably and library is a special cozy room to relax and get inspired. Kitchen and living room are very spacious, and of course the gas fireplace provides perfect ambience. The garden is a colorful little paradise, with the church and the lake being literally on your doorstep. It was so easy to just walk out and have a little stroll to the lake.

The Aldourie Lodge is an unforgettable stay! I cannot recommend it enough. The location is unbeatable, and the historic Church of the Good Shepherd and breathtaking mountain views through the front windows cannot be beat. The interior design is thoughtful, chock full of history of the area, and timeless. The garden out front is private, sweet and buzzing with wildflower bees. We felt right at home in this charming little cottage. There is no better or cozier place for couples, families or friends to gather and enjoy each other’s company, under a stunning southern sky full of stars.

You will not be disappointed. What looks like a beautiful old cottage with stunning gardens from the outside, is also stunningly renovated inside, extremely modern comforts whilst embracing the historic character of the home. Toasty warm in the beautiful snow fall we received in the last 24 hours. We were all so comfortable and happy with this beautiful accommodation.
