High Country Retreat
This modern and stylish studio offers the perfect getaway for a night or two in Tekapo. Enjoy the tranquility of Tekapo and slices of mountain & lake views from your private patio.
Wander 15 minutes into the village centre to experience one of the wonderful local cafes & restaurants. TV is available for the times you wish to relax in the comfort of your own space and super cosy king bed. A heat pump cools the studio on hotter days and warms it during the colder months. The studio is equipped equipped with a kettle, toaster & mini-fridge.
High Country Retreat is a fantastic alternative to a hotel for those looking for a short escape to experience Tekapo’s natural environment and eateries. This studio is attached to the owners holiday house but has it’s own private entrance.
Standard nightly rates:
- from $280 for 1-2 guests, depending on season
- under 2 yrs free in a port-a-cot (available for hire)
- linen, towels and cleaning included
2 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY – please note this may increase during peak periods. One night stay requests may be accepted depending on availability, and would incur a surcharge.

Really lovely studio in a beautifully peaceful location with a modern and high quality interior. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets felt soft, the shower was large and strong. There was a little coffee area with a toaster, microwave and sink as well. Short walking track straight down to the lakefront. Would definitely recommend staying here to visit lake Tekapo!

The location was perfect, nestled in the heart of Lake Tekapo with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Overall, I would highly recommend this private studio to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in a beautiful location.

Great room and location to explore Lake Tekapo and surrounds. The room is larger than we expected with plenty of space for parking and storage as well. The whole check-in/check-out process is very easy with the friendly happy to provide advice on good sites to visit, and good food in the area. Highly recommend!
